St Antony's Looks at The World
St Antony’s Looks in the World is an annual weekend-long event where fellows, donors and friends of the College discuss the great issues affecting the world today. This year the weekend has the theme 'The Rise of Illiberalism' and will take place on 25 and 26 June.
We are delighted to provide a background briefing book for the St Antony’s Looks at the World event. Selected articles from the Oxford Analytica Daily Brief provide analyses on the global NGO crackdown, the rise of right-wing terrorism in the West, how muzzling China's professionals may prompt poor policy and that Erdogan's key risks are Turkey's economy and security.
We also examine how Kazakhstan silence dissenting voices amid crisis, how global counterterrorism focus will weaken free speech and how journalist killings threaten Mexican democracy.
