- I'm getting too many emails, or too much volume per email - why?
-
-
Check your saved searches
- do you have too many sending email?
-
Are the Saved Search options on your profile
page
set to send you emails as soon as possible? That can lead to quite a few mails
per day.
-
Do some saved searches send both executive summaries and articles? If the
search depends only on keywords, try modifying the search just to look for
executive summaries.
-
Are your saved searches too broad?
-
All articles - if you get full text or opt to receive alerts "As soon as
possible", try changing these options.
- I never seem to get any email?
-
-
Check your email address.
-
Check that at least something is sending you email on your
alerting profile page.
-
Set up a saved search
on your likely interests.

If you or your organisation are using spam-filtering software, please ensure
that our content is whitelisted, by letting through all mail from
analysis@oxford-analytica.com or anything from @oxford-analytica.com. Our
content is sometimes misidentified as spam, because (for example) we write
about corruption in Nigeria.
- I get mangled emails?
-
Some browser-based email or corporate email systems do strange things with our
entirely standards-conformant HTML email. Try setting text format on your
alerting profile page.
- How do I unsubscribe from all email?
-
Visit your alerting profile page.
Unselect all options sending you email. Visit your
saved searches page. Make sure no searches are configured to send you
email.
- Will you pass my email address to third parties.
-
No.
Your alerting profile puts you in control of the email you get from
us, allowing you to make sure that you get only content that meets your needs,
and giving you control of frequency and format.

There are essentially three types of alerts you can receive:
- Product Executive Briefs
-
Delivered daily, one email per product selected.
Also known as executive summaries, these contain a series of small paragraphs
(“executive summaries”) on issues of the day from the product you select. These
are written and selected by our in-house editors for the relevant product, and
include links to all the articles of the day running in that product.
Individual products vary as to how many they contain, but apart from the
Combined Edition it is usually less then ten paragraphs per day.
- Article Alerts
-
Once daily.
If you select one of the all articles options, you will receive emails in your
selected format of all the full-length articles we write in a day - usually up
to eight.
- Saved Search Alerts
-
Emails per day configurable, down to weekly.
These are alerts generated by one or more of the searches you have saved with
us. Where an article matches one of your Emailable Saved Searches (see
Saved Searches Help page), you can select from a range of options
regarding frequency and format.
Email Formats:
-
Headlines
-
Summaries - full text of executive summaries or short summaries of full length
articles
-
Full text - full text of everything - not available with weekly sendings.
Additionally you may choose between HTML format - preferred, since it is
prettier, and a text format of email, which may suit some individuals receiving
email to mobile devices (such as palmtops, Blackberrys or phones), or those
using certain kinds of corporate or browser-based email clients.
Email frequencies: how many emails will you send me?
-
Product Executive Briefs: one email per day per product
-
All Articles: one email per day.
-
Saved Searches:
-
one per week (only available if you select headlines option)
-
one per day (if you select daily option)
-
several per day if you select as soon as published
-
Emails not directly concerning content: usually about one a month, sometimes
more frequently. If you don't want to receive such emails, just uncheck the
relevant box on your alerting profile page.
