Formerly a research analyst at a London-based country intelligence consultancy and has also taught at the University of Liverpool. Has published reports and features in Jane's Sentinel and Jane's Defence Weekly, and given regular media interviews.
Dr David Shotton

Educated as a biochemist and with a Ph.D. in molecular biology, David Shotton pursued an academic research career in cell biology and advanced microscopy techniques before switching to biomedical information management. He now leads the Image Bioinformatics Research Group at Oxford University, researching the use of web and semantic web technologies to enable sharing and re-use of biomedical research data, particularly images.
