Olivia Hamill

Deputy Director of Advisory

Olivia joined Oxford Analytica in 2007. She works primarily with our mining and natural resource clients, with a particular focus on political and economic risk across Sub-Saharan Africa.

Olivia manages the Strategic Issues Monitor for mining companies, which covers business environment issues that are of strategic importance to the sector. She regularly presents to clients on changes in the macro-environment affecting the mining sector and identifies the key challenges facing each of our clients. She has also carried out numerous country risk assessments for companies considering entry to emerging and frontier markets. Recent projects include a study on access to land and resettlement regulation in the agribusiness sector in eleven African countries and a global report on social, commercial and regulatory trends in the extractive industries.

Previous employment includes the Scowcroft Group and the International Institute for Strategic Studies, as well as projects for the United Nations and the World Bank. She holds a Masters in International Affairs from Sciences Po Paris and a BA in Political and Moral Philosophy from Université La Sorbonne.
